next week Important Microsoft UPDATES
Microsoft is not telling which updates it will launch, but for XP they are critical and important (and for those linux fanatics, you should update your machines much more often if I take the number of linux machines going down as birds being shot by machineguns).
For the planners - the machines will need a restart
maybe those will be - should be part of it
there is also a serious flaw in 2000 that would allow hacking a machine solely based on its IP address but no more technical information has been released
there are also several serious flaws found in Internet Explorer last week
If this is the case than the scammers-viruswriters will by reverse engineering the patches find the wholes and flaws and will try to make tools that will use them. The severity of these flaws is so big that they should be stupid not to do it.
in preparation of this you can also do the following
- http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/tools/mbsahome.... MSBA to test the machines on your network
- http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/updateservic... SUS server to update automatically your pc's on your network
and much more on this information center that is finally beginning to look like they mean business
