According to some publications, the computers that are sold with Vista have lower hardware quality than those sold last year with xp. The reason is that the price for VISTA licensing is much higher and that has to be compensated. The question is if VISTA is actually worth the higher price for the average customer. One remark is that you have to get a more expensive VISTA if you want to do the things computerusers do today. And more hardware.
Now Dell has decided to start reselling computers with XP on them. Good for us, but only if the hardware is as good as were the models last year. Would be a ripp-off if it would be otherwise. Maybe also a way to empty remaining stocks of so-called old computer they thought they wouldn't be able to sell because there was still XP on them. Com' On, show us the goodies.
Nearly free wireless internet access is a new marketing gimmick. So well, they thought. Untill the moment that spammers bought a cup of tea now and then, took it outside in their van with mailservers and send thousands of spams for a buck a day. The coffeeshop became the news of the blogs and the wired guys looked like stupid newbies afterwards. So whatever you do on the network, think before you do it.
